Community Planning Apprentice

Alyssa Chapman (she/they) is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Regional and Urban Planning from the University of Saskatchewan. She is currently a Community Planning Apprentice at Prairie Wild Consulting Co., where she began as a Student Planning Assistant in January 2024.

Alyssa’s background includes roles as the Watershed Planning and Policy Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Association of Watersheds and as the Watershed Technician for the South Saskatchewan River Watershed Stewards. They have experience in Climate Change Adaptation Planning, Bylaw and Governance changes, Land Use Planning, and Asset Mapping and Management.

Passionate about environmental and community-driven work, especially for vulnerable populations, Alyssa is also pursuing a second Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. A proud autistic individual, they have served as the Champion of Change for Autism Speaks Canada, promoting inclusion, acceptance, and awareness of the diverse challenges faced by the autistic community.

In her role at Prairie Wild, Alyssa contributes to research, community engagement initiatives, stakeholder consultations, and the development of various projects, always striving to make a positive impact through her work and advocacy.
