Elmwood Community Hub

Elmwood Residences Inc. developed a visionary Community Hub—a mixed-use, inclusive, intentional, and intergenerational development designed to enhance quality of life for people of all abilities. Rooted in a person-centered approach, the Hub prioritized the needs and aspirations of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while fostering community connection and belonging.

The development includes affordable and market housing, medical and retail services, and tailored programming for people with intellectual disabilities, creating a vibrant, community-oriented environment where people of all abilities could thrive.

Prairie Wild Consulting and Wapiti Analysis served as Co-Project Managers, leading project planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement throughout the initiative. Working closely with Olfert Architecture and Elmwood Residences’ leadership, the team supported the planning and development of this innovative, person-centered vision.
