SHIP (Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership), the Community Entity for the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home initiative, lead the development of a new 2024–2028 Community Plan. This plan will guide investments, partnerships, and coordinated efforts to prevent and reduce homelessness across Saskatoon.
Prairie Wild partnered with SHIP and Saskatoon’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) to lead a robust engagement process. We connected with:
- People with lived and living experience of homelessness
- Community-based organizations and service providers
- Government representatives across multiple orders
- Indigenous partners and housing advocates
Engagement included interviews and focused conversations designed to identify priorities, gaps, and innovative solutions.
This work was intentionally aligned with parallel initiatives, including the 2024 Point-in-Time Count and the Saskatoon Homelessness Action Plan, to ensure coordination and strengthen the collective impact of community efforts.
